The ability to move and stabilize the eyes for efficient reading. Without smooth, accurate eye movements, tracking across a line of text becomes exhausting and error-prone.
Instant Visual Recognition of Symbols
Rapid recognition of letters and words. When the brain can instantly identify symbols without laborious decoding, reading becomes fluent and automatic.
Imagery Creation
The ability to form mental images while reading. This is what turns words on a page into a movie in the mind — the foundation of reading comprehension.

The ability to anticipate meaning and structure in language. Skilled readers predict what comes next, making reading faster and more meaningful.
